Season 1 ~ Let the wild rumpus start!
Join Scout Perry, an aspiring documentary filmmaker and her brave (and slightly clueless) crew of ground squirrels for close encounters in the boreal forest. In this little known place that’s bigger than the Amazon, Scout discovers that all creatures can make a big impact on each other and the planet.
Equal parts silly and sincere, Northern Tails is original edutainment created in the Yukon, Canada – to be shared around the world.

EPISODE 1 | It’s another chill day for Winston, a mischievous raven in the boreal forest. He sets out to ruffle some feathers for his own amusement, visiting friends and dishing out unsolicited advice. They’re a bit annoyed but eventually grateful and Winston figures out that there’s more to life than high jinks.
EPISODE 2 | Isabelle is a woodland caribou and fashion influencer on the popular boreal social network, ClipClop. When her followers start dropping off, she is alarmed and confused. She thought being “rare” was a good thing but she learns that caribou are actually disappearing from the forest.
EPISODE 3 | The wolf pack’s pantry is bare, so the pups are sent on their first-ever mission to hunt on their own. But with the boreal environment in flux, wolves are having to adapt their diets. Determined to make their family proud, the pups tap into their wild instincts. Kids’ menu for the win!
EPISODE 4 | A heatwave has dried up the local pond and the animals that live there are getting a bit stressed. If the wetlands have no water, what will they do? Lou the beaver gets to work building a new dam that will help restore the community’s habitat. Housing crisis solved!
EPISODE 5 | The crew gives us a rare glimpse of Jackie the wolverine — a mysterious, powerful animal who is an independent loner by choice. Jackie is keen to avoid her mom who is always pestering her to meet a guy and start a family. GUH! Jackie (no doubt) will decide on her own terms.
EPISODE 6 | The crew turns the lens on its own species, arctic ground squirrels. They might seem like simple creatures, but for more than a million years, their ancestors have adapted their skills and passed down knowledge through generations in order to survive predators and the tests of climate change.
